For the creation of the mythological goddess Freia Hans Mes chose a design, in which elements are interweaved that are characteristic for this goddess. The slender body of the artwork is the sculptural approach of her youth and beauty. Sometimes Freia wore a dress made of feathers and chose to fly like a falcon. By the position of the falcon wings together with the head the associative reference of two leaves and a expanding bud symbolize spring and fertility. As goddess of the earth, Freia arose from the foam of waves and settled her palace on the white clouds of the sea of heaven. That considered Freia as goddess of the clouds. By also raising the sculpture from a gracious light-footedness from the polished grey-white granite floor this substantial aspect is invigorated. By this means the granite floor is being transformed into white-foamy water and the glass plated roof embodies the vault of heaven to which Freia spreads her wings. In the same way the Freia Group, for which this sculpture was made, offers her students these wings to raise themselves above the waves of a sea of knowledge in motion. This symbol emphasizes the aims of the Freia Group towards dynamical enterprise with a high level of ambition.
