BRONZE

Bees and Honeycombs was designed for a social workshop in Groningen, where various disabled people work in different disciplines according to their handicap. This setting will protect them and offer them a useful position in society. They are just like the bees, working hard. The government provides the different types of workshop in this building, just like honeycombs. This group of 55 different bees are placed in the canteen, the stairway and the entrance, all in different compositions. The sculpture was unveiled by the late Queen of the Netherlands Juliana. She was excited about this sculpture and spoke half an hour with the artist although this was not planned in the opening ceremony.
