PEAT FORM

BASALT AND BRONZE

Peat Form is much like a sample of peat containing soil. It has three layers: The top layer which is always removed, the peat layer that is cut out and dried and the sand layer on which the top layer after the peat digging is brought back together with some sand. After this process the first plant grown on these grounds was buckwheat. The plant in visualized in this sculpture, keeping the three basalt blocks together. This is one of two sculptures to connect two parts of a village as a sculptural element. The other one is on the next page.
